About Helen

In 1986 I graduated from Exeter University and I joined the Bristol office of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells as a trainee chartered accountant. I qualified in 1990 and joined a group of colleagues in a smaller firm - Hollingdales - which specialised in owner-managed businesses and charities.

I joined the British Red Cross Society in 1997 as the South West Regional Finance Manager where I gained significant general management experience.

In 2002 I established my business, Helen Bardle Chartered Accountant, and in 2008 the expansion of the practice necessitated a move to new premises in Cheddar.

I have a wide variety of clients, but I specialise in dealing with small businesses because I believe that is where I can deliver most value.

How I work

All accounts, tax returns and payrolls are prepared using the latest software. I also use the online services offered by HM Revenue and Customs and Companies House to give an efficient service. For all clients, my aim is to give as much prior notice as possible of any tax payments to be made.

I work on a fixed-fee basis for general compliance services so that clients are able to contact me on small matters without incurring additional cost. Any services that fall outside of this scope will be quoted in writing in advance.

I offer a free initial consultation to all prospective clients so that their needs can be established before any cost is incurred.

I am a member of a recognised training organisation, and fully comply with the professional development requirements of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
